Is it too much to ask?
To be able to chat,
For more than 1 minute,
If even that…
Before broken off abruptly,
—By a person burst in urgently,
Somebody answering a phone call,
“I’m sorry, please just bear with me!”,
That call will end,
And a new one begin,
Or just when you get back to flowing,
There starts some background hammering;
Great!
I’ve found a kindred spirit,
We’ve found this interesting subject,
…But it’s never long,
Not even 30 seconds,
Before a social vampire,
Butts in and spoils it all;
I made a friend,
And such conversations we gained,
But then,
They had to take a break,
I made a friend,
And such conversations we gained,
But then,
They had to take a break,
Again,
But that’s bound to happen,
When making friends,
Through depression support groups,
I completely understand;
I am just bemoaning,
My isolation now,
I even fail,
At helping myself—
Invited to scrabble,
At the knitting church,
But I forgot to go,
—I forgot,
To put it in my calendrier,
So I forgot to go,
It was too much to bear,
Sitting there…
Heat,
Social vampire,
Heat,
Change of subject,
Heat,
Change of topic,
Heat,
Don’t you dare,
Heat,
Finish that sentence!
Heat,
Heat,
Heat,
I’m going to scream!
🌪
Very relatable.

Really? Wow thank god, thank you!
The poem helped me feel better but that was like icing on the cake :D. Thanks 🙂

Also, read that with a building classical background track playing :D. That combination is so soothing, just discovering.

Hahaha! Just tried it. You’re right. I listened to “The Second Waltz” by Dmitri Shostakovich and it fits very well with your poem.

Cool, you actually did try it! 😀
I just tried reading with that song, but the one I was listening to was much more mournful and angry, haha.

By the way, not expecting you to read it, but just because I happened to hear the perfect song for this— if you do read ‘Flying Free’, the music ‘The Chosen — Main Theme’ by Neal Acree is absolutely perfect!

Just listened to it. It’s such a nice song! I can see how it’d fit with the poem, which was a really nice read as well. Great piece!

I feel and hear your screams all the way across the pond.
Well expressed feelings of angst!
I am sorry! 😦
I truly hope you are okay, though!

Haha, thank you! I really appreciate your empathy :).
Thank you, I am ok now! This poem really helped, it did indeed feel well-expressed. I really love the ending like with yesterday’s :D.
Also I’ve just been on a rubbish-related wild good chase. I may write a poem about that. Which ended in me stopping at the letting agency, and at least they are on my side so that felt good :), and I have become the de facto house diplomat with powers of impeachment.
So all in all, the fresh air and driving have helped in addition to the poems :). I’m happy to not be out driving in rush hour! 🤮

You are most welcome, Robin.
It’s wonderful how writing your poems are helping you, 🙂
You are doing amazingly well.
Keep it up!

I was watching the impeachment thing last night incidentally, it was really interesting, like reading a Noam Chomsky book. And refreshing to actually see some politics-related competency! Impressive to see the protocols that DO exist when it comes to it, to keep politics just about under control.

I have watched some of the impeachment trial but have to turn it off when the Republicans defend Trump.
In my eyes, Trump is evil and needs to go!
But he will not be convicted in the trial as the Republicans all seem just as evil as him! 😦
Hope people wake up and vote the monster out this coming Nov.

This is actually another joint-favourite poem with Magnificent Isolation and Come Back To The Living :D.
