The Limits Of My Escapism

No amount of escapism,
Can protect me from frustration,

For I wrote such a heavenly poem,
Because of olfactory interrogation,

But when I finally ventured out,
To use the bathroom hence,

I once again freaked out,
At the shit on the toilet seat and sink.

This is what I’m living with,
And has once again triggered me,
Perfectly ever-triggering, triggering,
To the OCD.

Now I just need some validification,
And moral support,
(Yes I made that word up).

      1. Hahaha! Exactly! I can only hope, that those people were just those people with pathological paranoia issues. Although if that was the case, you’d expect them to be residents in mental health hospitals, wouldn’t you?

Which then raises the point…could these people be deemed to be NEEDING that kind of treatment, as demonstrated by behaviours like this??

      2. At what point does ignorance and stupidity, combined with misinformation, become pathological? Needing to be treated as a mental health issue??

      3. Stupidity in terms of lack of intelligence there’s not much to be done about, but ignorance and misinformation are easy to remedy with people’s choices, and so I don’t see that as an illness issue.

      4. But even some disorders like ADHD are diagnosed based on symptoms, and rarely by actually checking for things like low dopamine levels.

Helping those people to make those behavioural changes is the sort of treatment that I was thinking of. If their actions are consistently leading to negative consequences for themselves and society, that’s kind of the definition of illness, isn’t it?

      5. Plenty of people do all kinds of things that have negative consequences without it being illness-driven. And there could be support around psychological issues without having to pathologize something as an illness.

        That’s true, fair point!!

Well, yeah, I didn’t necessarily mean give it a label, but approach it as a mental health problem. But yeah I agree with what you’re saying πŸ™‚ thank you for discussing it!

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚. Yes, I’m going to have to grit my teeth and clean it tomorrow. I mean it’s not a lot, it was streaks of it. Bad enough! I’m going to have to do it so I can stop being annoyed about it.

      1. When I clean the toilet, I often say, ‘Once more unto the breach’ to psych myself up. But it’s terrible that you have to clean up after an inconsiderate flatmate. I hope it doesn’t happen again.

      2. 😨 I just went and cleaned everything thoroughly, then cleaned the kitchen worktop a bit and just as I was finishing and was about to use the bathroom…the same guy of course walked past me to go in there!! 😨😨

    1. Thank you πŸ’™. Yes it was very frustrating, it dampened all of my creative energy and mood. I live with a very very strange person.

    2. They also still didn’t wash their hands, Margie. None of them ever use the hand soap. None of them!
