Meltdown 3

They said they didn’t know
With what World War Three would be fought
But World War Four would be fought with sticks and stones

How prescient, not to presume;

Nuclear-war induced stalemate
Had just about kept the peace between the largest nations and alliances
Given us a twentieth-century golden age

We survived that
Only for
A true singularity to come about

For what has continually remained a threat to mankind every so often pulled the rug from under our feet
Reminding us where the mercy lies
At a scale unseen

To which we have no equal defence
And now
That power is possessed by one
A singularity

They were wrong.

World War Four
Would be fought
