Wait for the report
Wait for the police investigation
Wait for the war
Wait for the local election
Wait for the report
Wait for the jubilee
Wait for the vote of no-confidence
Wait for the by-election
Wait for the second vote of no-confidence
Wait for the general election
Wait for the monkeypox outbreak
Wait for the drought
Wait for the flood
Wait for the famine

They needed another disaster
Another distraction
Yet another scandal in the choreographed outrage saga;

Release the nanobots.

At first we didn’t notice much,
Apart from occasional glitches;
Hardware,
Software,
Biological cells,
A variety of emerging oddities;
At first, nobody made the connection;

Then his face melted on live TV,

And everything erupted into full-on panic.
