Flat Viewing

The flat viewing went well, it basically looked exactly like in the photos. The landlord (or whoever it was showing me around) seemed very surprised that I’d managed to find pictures online, much less up-to-date ones. They were on an old advert on onthemarket.com πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

Anyway there were five viewings in total and I was the second. I have to wait for them to decide who to let the flat to. So in the end it’s probably not very likely it’ll be me, and I haven’t heard anything yet. Back to the grind.

  1. Sounds like you like the place so I would recommend contacting them, thank them for showing you the place and see let them know you are interested in living there. It goes a long way, to follow up on showings for flats, as you call them. It shows initiative and landlords like that. I use to work in rentals and I usually gave apts to people who show real interest in living there.

    1. Thanks, that’s a helpful reminder. I do actually usually do that but in this case I don’t have the landlord’s details as the council is going between us, which is a disadvantage. I feel handcuffed in the situation which is why I am not optimistic. But it is a good point about expressing enthusiasm whilst I am at a viewing in-person. At the time I was mostly focused on avoiding my anxious blinking habit just so I could communicate πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I have just emailed my contact at the council to ask her to express to the landlord that I am keen.

For any subsequent viewings at other places I could take my salvation army helper with me which could help.

      1. I hope you get it…. I understand the anxiety, and so do they. Everyone knows how stressful it is to look for a place to live. I wish you the best of luck but I know you will get there in time.

      2. Thanks!

Oop you spoke too soon, I just posted about being denied the place πŸ˜†. But time is indeed my friend at the moment in a perverse way, in terms of meeting criteria, in that the older I get the better my chances become.
