Anxiety, Poem 1 Minute

Letting agent
And landlord
In and out
In and out
All day
Every weekday

Fire alarm
On and off
On and off
Every two minutes
For no reason at all
(The alarms are all connected so the one in my room goes off, too, and it’s the only sound which cuts right through all of the hearing protection in the world)

Scared to leave my room
Scared to wake up during the day
The nighttime is the only time
When there’s peace and security
But there’s no sunlight

Fuck you.
