Being dragged backwards,
Down the hallway,
Screaming at the top of my lungs,

Hands sliding through vile things,
Bits of guts, brains, all kinds of entrails,
Is not a nice experience;

It’s not a housemate story,
But an actual apocalypse,
And I’m feeling totally helpless,

But as I’m sliding,
I do at least retain awareness,
And I focus on all the vivid little details,
And then, in one moment,
My hand catches on the fire extinguisher,
And I grasp it with all my might,

Now I’m dragging it along with me,
Making a terrible clanging,
And it stops pulling me,
My legs hit the floor,

And I’m grasping it with both hands,
Pulling the pin,
Squeezing the handle,
And it’s screaming in discomfort,
As the ice-cold jet slams into its fucking face,
It’s falling backwards in agony and I get to my feet,
But now it’s recovering,
It’s looking back at me again,
So I walk over towards it,
Raising the heavy cannister,
And I do the job…

Then I wake up,
Ready for the next day’s battles!

I actually dream pretty lucidly quite a lot. Although I haven’t been dreaming much at all lately, in the last few months! When I was a child I definitely had a lot of the nightmares where I couldn’t move. But it seems now they are lucid more often than not!

This was just a daydream, though, of the sort of nightmare which I could imagine having! Lol.
