I think we’ve all come to realise,
During these past few months…
The true value of face-to-face interaction,

As well as those other things in our lives which are important,
And those which aren’t,

And as a society we’ve been forced to confront… and to understand,
Just how fragile our sense of normality,
Even our mortality,
And all of the things which we usually take for granted…
Really are.

We choose to go to the shops…
We choose to go to the shops, and do the other things…

    What people did learn from all this situation for real?

    Where is education and good manners?

    What are the economic interests behind COVID-19 drama?

    Can people see we are returning to dictatorial regimes?

    2. Are you referring to the way that corrupt politicians can use times of change for transferring funds or benefiting certain people? Like delaying decisions, or giving contracts to certain people/companies.

    3. And then you could say that those sorts of things can be quite dictatorial. Also in the way that politicians are just making crazy opinionated decisions independently from scientific advice?

      1. Exactly, Robin!

        Let’s dive into this topic. As you must know, we all know when the lockdown was establish in all countries around the globe. There was this preoccupation around the impact of lockdown and mental health. Therefore, why restrict people inside their homes for months when it does have an impact on mental stability? What was the objective of it? To save people or make them even more ill?

        The truth is that we are living dictatorships dressed up as democracies, where the population doesn’t have real freedom to decide their lives and act like they are authentic herds based on fear and repression. More than repress and lockdowns, we need education, real education, and stop acting like real assholes.

And this, for me, is the real problem, the lack of sufficient knowledge, and the usage of human vulnerabilities/diseases to gain power and money.

      4. There is truth in all of that, and especially that society’s main problem at the moment is lack of education and knowledge amongst people. Which is ironic and sad, given the incredible availability of information and learning resources these days. People are aren’t thinking analytically enough things (I mean everything, like household stuff and bigger things).

        But about the lockdownβ€” it was and is expected that the lives saved by limiting covid infections is greater than those saved by not doing a lockdown. Also lockdown is supposed to be done properly with contact tracing, then followed by continuing to keep infections very low, like they are doing in New Zealand and Hong Kong. The general population takes a lot of responsibility for that not working out in some places, like the UK. Here we’d need actual dictatorial control to make lockdown and hygiene measures effective, because there are too many people who ruin it.

      5. I am worried for countries like the UK, because failing to achieve the low infection rate and re-establishing the economy safely like some places have done will be a continual loss for a long time now, for the sake of a one-time, upfront proper lockdown then followed with discipline.

      6. In New Zealand, for example, the prime minister did something incredible she didn’t allow the economy to stop and even gave to citizens some days of the week to go out and spend money.
        The lockdown is effective, but we have to understand the post-lockdown can be chaotic when there are no measures or other options for people’s safety. Be on television talking about it all the time doesn’t help, because our brain wants to find solutions and not think about drama all the time.

        I would ask, what do we have to learn with all this? What is Covid-19 exactly? What are the strategies that we should implement in our countries to make our economies stronger? What is the European Union when the discrepancy between countries members are so high?
