Anxious Consequences

Sorry if it seems like I’ve been ignoring people,
I haven’t,
I will catch up with everybody eventually,
I just haven’t had a good period of time being relaxed enough;

I thought I would now, after dinner,
But it’s been awkward getting that done,
Since the most intimidating housemate is in the kitchen,

β€”That’s a consequence of having done everything later,
β€”You see how it gets hard to just complete the day,
And not beat myself up.
And to stave off anxiety,
And to keep a sleep routine πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

It’s alright…
They left fairly soon after!
It’s good to eat.

    1. I’m sorry to hear that! But I’m glad you were able to find something relatable in it! Thanks, it really does.

  1. I’m always ignoring people’s messages because I’m too anxious to read them. I feel like I’m being rude and I’m worried that they think I’m rude, but if I’m open about my struggles most people are understanding. So I feel your pain!

    1. Thank you!! πŸ™‚.

Yes, I’m not so anxious to read the messages themselves, but I want to be in a relaxed and focused frame of mind. Or perhaps that’s what you meant :). Anyways, thanks, I appreciate you relating!

    1. I’m trying! πŸ˜†. That’s one of the things that’s hard here, because the housemates get in the way. I do as much as I can :).

      1. πŸ™‚. The last couple of days have definitely been positive, I’ve started getting a lot more sunshine now, and having that summery feeling again for the first time since 3 summers ago!

        How are you doing?

      2. Wonderful Robin
I okay but if truth be known not in the best frame of mind
I too have been very anxious as of late .I just miss Terri so much and it’s not getting any easier with the grief. Dang

      3. Thanks for letting me know that, Margie. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been anxious too. Do you find doing things like walking your dog or knitting help?

I think, sometimes, when we’re not getting enough of what we need, and we naturally end up feeling worse because of that, we can then ascribe too much of the cause of feeling bad to a particular thing. I’m completely naive about whether that would still apply in this case, though.

I feel like having opportunities to help people would be an awesome thing for your soul. How about some charitable ways to help people with ALS, or to raise awareness of it, or to help fund research?

      4. Robin, thank you. Walking my dog is good for me. But I have come to the conclusion that losing Terri is something I will probably never get over. Whoever said it gets easier with time was telling a big fat lie. Oh, I have lost others that I loved, like my mom and dad and I miss them but Terri was my heart and soul ~ I actually have done things to raise awareness about ALS , I have done some fundraising and that was good for me.

      6. Oh, yeah, I see what you mean. I was talking about needing to reply to people. In that aspect, yeah, don’t worry, I do tell myself to not worry about not replying to people in the short-term, and I do manage to not worry, because when I have something I need to say, that’s just such a burning feeling. πŸ˜†

    1. Practising non-reactivity and writing are the main things at the moment!

      Thanks, same to you!

      1. I’m doing the same, I’m getting anxious very often πŸ™„ and focused only on reading and writing, and it really helps a lot to stay away from those superficial thoughts

      2. Yes, it certainly does! Crazy that writing and reading initially caused me a great deal more anxiety through OCD, and still do at times. But thank god they have become overall positive things again, including in the moment.

Since the weather’s turned nice and with my need to be in the sun, it’s added a complicating factor πŸ™‚. In the winter it’s easy to just return to those whenever you need to, but in the summer it means sacrificing something even closer to my heart.
