Marvelous photos, Robin. π
I love Seattle and will be going there when all is safe again.
Missing my son and his little family who live in Gig Harbor which is nearby to Seattle.
Oh wow! He lives right on the edge of that really nice bit. I can’t imagine living in that Olympic Park/Forest area! That whole west coast bit up to Vancouver is possibly the most idyllic place to live that I’ve seen so far.
Of all the places I have lived, Denver is my favorite place. (well, except for Nova Scotia.)
I have lived in Boston, North Conway, New Hampshire, Panama City, Florida, Great Falls, Montana, Hampton, Virginia , Colorado Springs, CO and last place Denver. I am staying in Denver π
All those places were not my choice as we were a military family.
Panama city, Great Falls, Hampton and Colorado Springs are the Air Force bases my hubby was stationed at.
Another place I lived (for 3 months+)) was at Osan Air Force base in South Korea.
I would have to say that was my least favorite place to live.(without a doubt!)
My hubby came down with spinal meningitis while he there on a remote tour.
He went into a coma and was not expected to live.
I went there after he beat the odds and came out of the coma.
I was there to help him with his recovery, it was a long battle but after the help of a lot of good Dr’s and nurses he was released from the hospital and went back to Panama city and we were there for 2 years at Tyndall Air Force base till we moved to Hampton Va, where he was stationed at Langley Air Force base.
I am not sure about all this moving fitting my personality though as I am actually quite an introvert but moving did help me to become more of an extrovert when I needed to be and I met some great friends along the way. π
Oh my god, Margie! You have experienced so much, I’m so glad your husband made it! You’ve been through more than your fair share of sad and scary experiences. All that whilst he was so far away, too. It’s pretty much the opposite side of the world. Thanks for telling me all of that. Your stories inspire me.
I can see the introvert thing, actually, from my memory of seeing your photo in your ‘about’ page! You had a calmness about you. You really put up with a lot of moving, then! I’m glad you are finally in one place, and Denver, too π. πππ
Robin, life has certainly has its shares of ups and downs but I survived it all.
What’s that saying, what does not kill you makes you stronger.
I am strong , hear me roar!
I am so glad to know I can be inspiring, you inspire me too, Robin β€
Lol xD. I AM loving the smells of vegetation though! At this time in Scotland it’s never that green, but down here everything’s flowering already. In fact in southern England this is the greenest time of the year, in summer it gets yellow and brown.
Amazing! Yeah, that was surreal to see all the reports of flooding, days after terrible reports about megafires. I was going to ask you, what was your experience of the fires like?
I was sad for the animals, sad for people lost their home and people lost means to generate income to provide for self and family. It was heartwarming to see the nation united to care for each other. Overseas firefighters came to rescue and lost their lives.
Mt Rainier! Is such a cool sight from the shores of Seattle. I remember standing on the seafront there and knowing nothing about Mt Rainier, I was gazing into the distance and suddenly became aware of this impressive snowy mountain through the sea haze. Incredible!

It’s truly beautiful and I could live there and love it but Colorado is pretty awesome too.

Yeah Colorado does sound more of an escape, and island of relative rationality! I mean Denver is 1,600m high, that’s amazing!

“Whatβs that saying, what does not kill you makes you stronger.”
Definitely! I tell myself this all the time :D. I told myself that a lot last year.
