Wheelchair Basketball 🏀👨🏽‍🦽

They actually got back to me!
—The wheelchair basketball people,

She’d been in hospital,
Bad timing, was all,

And I’ve been invited to go along,
On Saturday— just two days!

I’m hugely excited,
Because I tried wheelchair basketball, before
—In Summer 2018,
It’s been sooo long!

Previously, I’d had to stop,
Because I was discriminated against,
And didn’t get to play,
—The coach was a total jerk,
But everybody else was fine!

With wheelchair basketball,
I am at one, once again,
Fluidly gliding,
Through space, whilst aiming,

Reacting, and multi-tasking,
Split-second decisions,
Decisive actions,

Everything moving,
Relative to each other,
Passing is an art,
Pure, unconscious instinct,

And I was a natural at all of it,
Learning so fast,
Moving so fast,
And becoming sooo, so accurate,

This is a real motivator!
And now I am back in training,

I’m the least fit I’ve ever been,
But am mightily competitive 😉.
