Burning To Be Expressed

Well,
I’ve let myself down again,
I’m still awake due to…
Previous lack of action,

But also anxiety,
About this afternoon’s consternation,
–– Having to leave Green Health,
Due to frustrations with expression;

And now I’m wide awake,
For a different reason,
–– A long text message sent,
Trying to give some lesson;

But that’s the problem!
There’s the danger with clipped conversations,
It is all too easy for them,
To indulge in extrapolation,

Which results…
In endless strawmen-burning,
Painful wasted efforts,
From incorrect perceptions;

Which was precisely my frustration!
And now it’s only multiplied…
Through the very-same mechanism!

  1. Robin, I just saw this as I am heading to bed.
    I am sorry you are still awake.
    I know how tough it is when you cannot sleep.
    I am sending you good thoughts.

  2. I wrote this for you, Robin ~
    A Wish ~
    To wish you the top of the morning
    The best that any day sends
    To wish you the cheer at noontime
    That comes with the thoughts of friends
    And when the evening shadows
    Fall lengthening o’er the way
    To wish you the heart’s contentment
    That comes with a perfect day ~ πŸ™‚

    (I hope you have fallen to sleep, I am off to claim my night of restful and peaceful sleep now.)

    1. Wow, thank you! πŸ’™.

      That’s an amazing poem, you should publish it now! Haha.

      Write more poems 😁.

      It made me feel really good to see that somebody had written a whole poem for me! I was indeed asleep (just) when you sent that :D. Do you have Irish heritage?

        Thanks for saying it was amazing (probably not though!)
        I wrote it on the spur of the moment in the hope it might cheer you up! πŸ™‚

      2. Nope, I always say what I mean, you know that! Didn’t you say I was good at expressing my thoughts and feelings? πŸ˜‰

        Try it–– post it and you’ll see I was right :D. You’ll help a lot of people feel better :).

        The best poems DO come in the spur of the moment! Haha :D. ALL of mine are in the spur of the moment, and totally get in the way of long-term ideas I haveβ€” I hardly ever get around to those!

        Spur of the moment ones are the most authentic because you write them as you are feeling what you’re describing.

        Scottish-Irish is interesting! I love Scotland, and I only learned that Irish phrase ‘top of the morning’ last year.
